Friday 2/5 -

The weekend started with a very productive rehearsal on Friday night from 6PM-10PM at Highland Park HS. We learned how to get on and off the floor and worked with completed props for the first time all year. After rehearsal concluded, Jodi P met us with the trailer. The first load of the year is always time consuming. It took us over an hour. The members and staff made the best of it; we worked as a team, and got the job done with smiles on our faces. We left that night excited for our first show day.

Saturday 2/6 -

Show Day!!! at Eagan High School

Our day started at 8AM working the Applebee's pancake breakfast in West St. Paul. The fundraiser was well attended, and it was great to see so much support for our organization. Thank you to all who attended, and a special thanks to Penny and Gwynne for all their hard work.

After breakfast, the members and staff headed down to Eagan HS for an 11am rehearsal. Jay Coopersmith (MBI Alumni/Eagan Drumline Director) hooked us up with a great rehearsal facility. We had a positive/intense rehearsal. The members started actually performing their show, not just playing through their show. It was great to see the members new to the group start to take ownership and pride in what they represent. We concluded rehearsal at 5pm, and were pumped to get on the floor for competition.

We gathered at 6:30pm to prepare for warm-up. The group had a relaxed energy. Before we left for warm-up, we posed for a group picture. The warm-up was very focused. We were hearing clarity that hadn't been heard before. The ensemble was ready to reveal the show "Focus" for the first time.

Show Time!!! Thanks to the staffs' direction, we entered the floor organized and professional. We started the show a bit nervously, but we transitioned well. The show was energetic and over all a great place to set the bar for the season. The crowd response was pretty good. The members came off of the floor feeling good about the performance as well as knowing we have much more to work on.

After a brief meeting with the full ensemble, Jodi met us with the trailer, and the whole group participated in the load. It was cold, but we were all riding high on the weekend's experience. This time our load time was down to 27 minutes!

Thanks to everyone who had a hand in this weekend's performance. Whether you were sewing uniforms, pulling a trailer, performing, teaching, or watching the show, your time is so valuable to the ensemble and is very much appreciated.

Please come to our home show at Park Center High School this Saturday (2/13) at 6:30pm. All proceeds benefit Minnesota Brass Indoor.
