2010 has begun!  Thank you to everyone who attended the Open House on Saturday the 2nd, we are very happy with the event.  We braved spectacular cold to be there, and it was fun!

Did you miss it?  Don't worry!
The season has just begun, and we invite you to come visit us at any of our weekly Wednesday evening rehearsals.  Our FIRST rehearsal of the new season takes place Wednesday January 6, and we would love to see you there.  Rehearsals are held:

Wednesdays, 6:45-10:00p.m.
Highland Park Senior High School
1015 Snelling Ave S
Saint Paul, MN 55116

At this early date, we are not making decisions about final membership.  We want everyone to come to every rehearsal in January and February before we begin making any decisions.  We want you to have solid first-hand experience rehearsing, marching and performing with Brass.  Rehearse with us this winter and learn how Brass operates, develop your skills and make new friends.  We expect three things from everybody involved with Minnesota Brass; professionalism, hard work, and fun.  YOU can be a member of one of the premier drum corps in the world, and it starts now in January.  Join us!

if you are interested in coming to a rehearsal to check us out, we ask you to send us a quick note to let us know. Please click this link:   http://www.mnbrass.org/generalinterest.php

P.S. Have you seen the show we're playing!?!  It's going to be spectacular!!

Minnesota Brass is proud to announce their 2010 program: Caravan

Night and stars above that shine so bright.
The mystery of their fading light.
That shines upon our Caravan

          -Duke Ellington

An odyssey through the desert is in store for MBI fans this year.  The story of our voyage will be told in five acts:  Camp, Mirage, Sandstorm, Oasis, and Caravan.   Musical selections for the production include:
"Bangkok" (from Chess)
Danse Bacchanale (Camille Saint-Saens)
"Nefud Mirage" (from Lawrence of Arabia)
"Kashmir" (Led Zepplin)"Scheherazade" (Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov)
"Caravan" (Duke Ellington.)

"This is going to be a fantastic vehicle for our Corps,"  said Joel Matuzak-MBI Program Coordinator, "The music and concept allows us to continue to innovate in the all-age Drum Corps activity while maintaining a program that audiences will love.  I couldn't be more excited!"

Are you interested in performing with Minnesota Brass?  It's not too late!

The new year just began, we have not made any roster decisions, and our rehearsals continue to be open to anyone who is interested.  Come on down and meet everyone, play or spin with us, and have a good time!

See you Wednesday!
